You are on this list because you have expressed interest in receiving emails from at least one of our four families. You are invited to write to any of us with your comments. Also, if you have a friend who would like to receive the Dagara Digest on a regular basis, please forward this message to them and ask them to click on the "subscribe" button on the left. It's hard to believe our time in the States is nearly over. August has flown by and we are rapidly approaching our departure date of Sept. 18th. This past month we had the opportunity to visit with our supporting congregation in San Antonio and with the Southern Hills congregation in Kyle, Texas. At both congregations, we shared a little about the work in Burkina Faso and we had the chance to renew old friendships and create new ones. Of course, Emma was a hit and two showers in her honor blessed us as well. After our time in Kyle and San Antonio, we came back to the Dallas area where we had the pleasure of seeing our teammates, Chad and Amy Carter, who are back for a wedding. Next week we will be making a trip to Abilene to visit with Sonny and Eunice Guild who saw the rest of our team in Burkina earlier this summer. We are looking forward to the mentoring time with them. We appreciate your prayers during this time of transition in our lives. If you would like to see pictures of Emma you can log on to our online photo album

Until we reach the other side….

What an encouraging month! The Guild's visit was such a blessing for our team. We spent several days with them in the capital and then welcomed them into our homes here in Dano. We introduced them to our friends around town and took Sonny to visit our churches and preaching points.

Following that, the Guilds and we drove to Ghana for the Africans Claiming Africa Conference, a once-every-four-years event in which Africans celebrate the work being done by the churches of Christ. It was a time of worship and teaching with people from 15 different countries. We then headed for the beach and our annual West African Missionary Retreat. We enjoyed fellowship with most of the American missionaries living in West Africa and were blessed by lessons from John and Beth Reese. Returning home, we've spent the last week catching up on village visits and overseeing the digging of the Carters' 94-meter deep dry well.

We're also getting ready for our upcoming furlough. We'll be in the States from October 5 - January 11. We'd love to see as many of you as possible, so please write us and let us know when we can see you!

Greetings from Dagara land. We are doing well and are excited to be back from traveling all over West Africa. The West African Missionary Retreat at Tills Beach Resort in Ghana was a real encouragement to us. Daniel and Andrea enjoyed relaxing at the beach while Aaron enjoyed getting a beating in lawn chess from Murphy Crowson, a missionary on the Tabligbo team in southern Togo. We also enjoyed taking the scenic route back to Dano, passing through and visiting with the two teams in Togo. Back in Dano, we celebrated Daniel's 4th Birthday. He had a rootin'-tootin' good time. We are excited about the church in Nakar. This Sunday, not only did we have the largest attendance on a Sunday morning to date (60 attendees as opposed to the usual 15), but we also had our first communion service. Please pray that God will continue to grow this church to maturity. We are still struggling to find people to come to the evangelistic meetings in Boncholi. Please pray that God will either convict people's hearts to want to hear God's truth or give us peace about moving to another preaching point.
