Daniel
and I are really enjoying having Andrea
back from her retreat in Benin. Kids
say the darnedest things, though. Recently,
Daniel was upset with me so he decided to
bring his problem to Jesus - he prayed "Jesus,
would you destroy my Daddy?" Although I
love his honesty, I explained to him that
Jesus only does what is good for His Father,
God, and that it would not glorify God for
Jesus to destroy me (at least I hope so).
We
are excited about the new births in Mebar.
Pray for this new church to grow quickly
in maturity. In Nakar, there is a young
man named "yawnbacere" (pronounced:y-ow-nn-bah-chedd-ay)
that is learning and reteaching our evangelism
series to the young church there. Please
pray that there will be more leaders like
him to help him in leading this young church
and that they will be able to choose soon
the next village where they are to go to
share this good news we have given them.
Please pray as well for Boncholi. There
is just one young man, "Winceslas," who
is consistently at meetings. There have
been a couple of times that he was the only
one. But on the positive side, he has a
great memory and has really latched on to
these stories. Pray that he will convince
his friends to join him in his interest
so that a church might be planted in Boncholi.

Well,
we are both in full Dagara language learning
mode now. Amy is studying with Rebekah and
Chad is working with a man called Apollinaire.
Please pray for these friendships and for
speed in learning the language.
We
continue the process of moving in and waiting
on details such as water and turning on
lights in the entire house. It is nice to
feel slightly settled before we hit the
road in August and September. We were especially
excited this past month to witness the birth
of a church in the village of Mebar. We
give God the glory that his voice has spoken
in so many lives. Remember these baby Christians,
pray for their growth and steadfastness.
We
also give thanks for time we were able to
spend with a college friend of Chad's, Adam
Hawk. He was participating in some short
term work with our Baptist coworkers a few
towns away. Thanks for listening and we
love you!
