This
month, the Tylers, long-term east African missionaries,
graced us with their wisdom at the West African Missionary
Retreat.
While
in Ghana, we were also able to purchase materials to
upgrade the plumbing at our house. The past few weeks,
our house has been a construction zone. We often felt
as if we were moving in all over again. But we are excited
now to have enough water pressure to water our lawn,
wash a load of laundry, and take a shower all at the
same time. We also enjoy what we call a weather sensitive
water line - when you're hot you're hot. We've also
been repainting our house.
Daniel
played at the Johnson's while Andrea and I celebrated
our 10th wedding anniversary at a French restaurant
called l'Eau Vive in Bobo.
We're
struggling at the preaching point Zen-gown to find consistency
in attendance. We've started actually translating the
leader training curriculum and plan on continuing our
leader training in Nakar next month. We're also holding
our first Dagara wide leaders' conference this month.
We pray this fosters a spirit of unity and fellowship
among the Dagara that will Glorify our Father in heaven.
May
the LORD Bless You and Keep You,
Aaron, Andrea, and Daniel

May
is always a loaded month in our family. Our anniversary
is May 20th and Amy’s birthday is May 27th. We had the
opportunity to celebrate both of those milestones in
coordination with our trip to Ghana. We were both encouraged
and challenged by the message presented by Sean and
Lynda Tyler at this year’s WAMR. This month was also
exciting as children at Richardson East ministered to
missionary children by raising funds to help with a
VBS.
We
continue to teach in the village of Dagore but have
experienced some frustration. People are not committed
enough at this point to leave other responsibilities
and take time to sit and hear the Word. We are making
a change in our meeting time to try and accommodate
when people will be available. Please continue to pray
that God would change hearts in this village.
Amy
enjoyed the first official visit with the ladies in
Mebar and looks forward to when they will start women’s
maturation lessons with that church. Other big happenings
in Dano include the Annual Dagara Fashion Show and the
arrival of two cel towers (which they have yet to plug
in).
Please
remember in prayer the rain for Dagara-land. Many families
are running out or have run out of food. Pray that Satan
will not distort this anxiety to drive people to idols
and divination and that young Christians will be able
to stand strong as those around them pursue answers
through animistic means.

Greetings
from a dry and weary land! The biggest news around
town these days is how late the rains have come
this year. They should have started in earnest
a month ago, and we’ve only had one good rain
so far. Please pray that God would send rain so
that our friends can eat next year and that He
would do it in such a way that brings glory to
His name and not that of the ancestors.
We
had a wonderful time down in Ghana at the West
African Missionary Retreat. We spent time with
our church of Christ and Christian Church coworkers
throughout West Africa. We were also blessed by
time with two of our missionary mentors, Shawn
and Linda Tyler, who came from Uganda to speak
at our retreat. It was a blessed time of spiritual
renewal and physical relaxation on the beach.
We’ve
been enjoying the last two weeks of plain old
vanilla village work. Andy is enjoying his visits
with the Christians in Mebar and Dano-Pari and
is seeing God do great things among the listeners
in Sorian. We ask your prayers as he has recently
begun teaching in Nyi-Kpier, with a lot of initial
interest. Keep Melissa in your prayers as well,
as she and the other ladies of the team continue
their work on a women’s curriculum.
Blessings,
Andy and Melissa

May
was a great month which included a visit to the
coast of Ghana for the West African Missionary
Retreat. It was a great time of fellowship with
church of Christ and Christian church missionaries
from Togo, Benin, Ghana, Ivory Coast and Burkina
Faso. Our speaker was Shawn Tyler from Mbale,
Uganda. He and his family have been missionaries
in East Africa for over 20 years. We were encouraged
by his words. It was a great time to build new
friendships and renew old ones. We also enjoyed
celebrating Emma’s first birthday and Archie’s
34th during the month of May.
It
was good to get back home and get into the routine
of things. Archie is continuing village visits
in Dagore and is studying with Donatien. Mandy
has continued to work on the translation of the
women’s curriculum. Emma has started walking and
it is great fun to watch her discover new things.
The
biggest prayer concern that we have is for RAIN.
We are about a month behind when the rain comes
normally. The problem is that we had a few showers
in early April and many people planted their grain
and then we had close to a month without rain.
So, some of their gain has died and after having
a less than average harvest last year, the people
are wondering where they are going to get food.
Last
Saturday, both Andy and I were teaching in two
different villages on Elijah. We both prayed for
rain. On Monday morning, the first good rain of
the season came. With this rain, we pray that
the people will be looking to God for rain instead
their local gods or ceremonies. Please continue
to pray for rain so that the people of Burkina
Faso will have a good harvest this season. We
praise God for the good health of Emma and our
family. Also, praise God for the decision that
Donatien has made to be baptized this Sunday at
the Mebar church. We would like prayers for our
leaders meeting on June 12.
God
bless,
Archie, Mandy and Emma
