It seems like April '05 was the shortest month in history! We are thankful already to be entering May because that means the rains are coming!!! There are already signs that the rainy season is coming: cooler temps, more humidity, and plants turning actual shades of green rather than brown (or black). To us, this means a garden in our yard and more time outside playing with our dog, Toby.

Andy and the guys are busy with several village visits a week. We would ask you to pray for the church in Mebar; they still seem to be struggling.

Praise God that our visits to Dano Pari seem to be going better than ever before. Also, the village of Sorian is responding well to Andy and our friend Severene's lessons.

Melissa and the women of our team had a wonderful 2-½ day jaunt down to the beautiful town of Banfora for some much-needed R & R. They also are making great progress on a curriculum that they would one day like to teach to Dagara women. Pray for wisdom as to how and when to present this curriculum; as planting season is starting soon, we will likely need to wait until after harvest in order to get a good turnout.

Finally, pray for our team and for us as we head down to Ghana to host this year's WAMR (West African Missionary Retreat)- each family will be traveling over 40 hours in our vehicles on not-too-reliable West African roads.

Thank you for your support and prayers! We love and appreciate you all!

This month began with a short visit from the Parkers and the Hendersons. The Parkers live and work in southern Togo and the Hendersons, who help support the Carters, came all the way from Atlanta, Georgia. We were happy to spend a little time with these two families and we especially appreciate their words of support and encouragement.

Things around Dano have been going well. The rains have come a little early this year, so we have enjoyed somewhat cooler temperatures and greener grass. This is the time of year that Burkina actually begins to look pretty. We are seizing the opportunity to get a little work done on the guesthouse yard. We are hopeful that by the end of rainy season, we will have more than dirt for a yard.

Archie and Chad are fully underway at the preaching point in Dagore. This is the first time that the people of this village have heard the story of Jesus. Please continue to pray that both Archie and Chad will be able to clearly communicate God's message. Pray also that the people will be open to hearing the truth.

We love and miss you all.

What a month this has been! We've gone on so many adventures. Aaron tried to go out to the new preaching point, Zengown, on his bicycle. The meeting ran so late that he was caught in the dark without a headlight on his bike and had to balance a maglite in his hands while pedaling and dodging other bikers without even a flashlight zooming down the road in the dark. Recently Aaron also enjoyed getting to know one of the leaders in Nakar a little better by spending a couple of nights with him in the village sleeping on his roof and under the stars and eating lots of saa and okra sauce. Andrea and Daniel have begun pre-school again. Daddy got to be the teacher for a week while Andrea went swimming and relaxing with the Dagara Team ladies for a few nights at the Sugar Cane in Banfora, Burkina Faso. We are looking forward to celebrating God's work with many of our co-workers in West Africa at the upcoming West Africa Missionary Retreat.
