Letting a field lie fallow - After many attempts at evangelism in Zengown with sometimes even a hostile response, they finally let us know that they just aren't interested at this time. I have been praying for God to make it clear what to do with this difficult village, and this week they told us, "We have too many parties to go to, and too much work to do. We will let you know when and if we want you to come back and teach us." This opens up more opportunities to work more on our leadership training materials and on Nakar where things continue to go very well. Carters coming back - We are excited about going to meet the Carters at the airport tomorrow night as they come back to join us again on the field. |

We are excited to start a new year in Dano and see what the Lord has in store for us. We enjoyed ringing in the new year with our teammates, the Johnsons.
We recently learned that the reason our friends and neighbors make such a big deal out of New Years celebrations here is that it is everybody's birthday party. The Dagara don't pay much attention to the actual day they were born and many of them are lucky just to remember the year. So when New Years Day rolls around they all know that they are a year older. So, "Happy Birthday to You and days of Auld Lang Syne."
Well, my main new years resolution is to keep in better contact with you folks that are thinking about us and praying for us. This should be a fairly easy goal to accomplish, since in order to do so I would have to send more than one newsletter in 2006.
May the Lord bless you and keep you all,
Aaron, Andrea,
and Daniel Burk
