Prayer Request
Yanni (hi)!
Things are going very well as our team prepares for beginning to teach in Dagara villages. So far, our team has met with the leaders of three villages and they have all accepted our coming to teach in their villages. ...They wanted to try Satan's way first, and if that didn't work, they would let him pray to God for them. The village names are Nakar, Mebar, and Bonchuol. We have another meeting coming up soon with the leader of a region of villages in another area. The leaders in both Nakar, and Bonchuol have told us that, when we tell them the date we will begin teaching, they will publicize for us so that many will come. We have God to thank for all of this. Thank you for going to Him in prayer on behalf of His work among the Dagara. When we, as a team, discussed how we wanted to begin our teaching in villages, we decided we really didn't want to just show up and start teaching. We wanted to be invited or introduced in someway, though we really didn't know how. God so far has used our night guards and language teachers and even the electrician that wired our house as liaisons for us into villages that want to hear the good news about Christ. The main reason that we are sending this email, though is a special prayer request that we have. Our night guard, Ba-yuor, was our liaison to the village of Bonchuol. He went ahead of us to Bonchuol to ask the chief if he would be o.k. with meeting us. When he came back, he said he would be o.k. with it, but he had some bad news. He visited one of his brothers who lives in Bonchuol and he was having a problem. The dagara language is a bit imprecise and even where it isn't my understanding of it is imprecise. Anyway, what I understood Ba-yuor to say was, "My brother is going crazy, and my family doesn't know what to do. I told them they should pray to God but they wanted to try Satan's way first, and if that didn't work, they would let him pray to God for them." So he asked me what he should do. I told him to pray to God for him and that I would also. My family was visiting so we all sat down that night and prayed for him. About one week later, Andy, Archie, and I went to Bonchuol with Ba-yuor to meet the leaders of the village. We met with them, and they welcomed us. Then we stopped by to visit Ba-yuor's brother. In asking him about his problem they explained to me that Satan was bothering and scaring him. We prayed with him and ask you to pray for him that God would show him he loves him by taking away the fear Satan has put into him. Please pray that God would take this and other opportunities like it to glorify Himself in the villages of Bonchuol, Mebar, and Nakar. May the Lord bless you and keep you all, Aaron, Andrea,
